About Anna-Maria
Self-portrait from project “A personal visual diary of motherhood” (2022)
Anna-Maria Vaskovskaja (b. 1992) is a Estonian-Russian photographer. She graduated from the Photography Department at Pallas University of Applied Sciences, where she was introduced to the fundamental principles and techniques of the art form. During her studies, she had the opportunity to further her knowledge at Escola Superior Artística do Porto in Porto, Portugal, where she lived from 2014 to 2017.
Anna-Maria currently works as a freelance photographer and artist, with a strong focus on analog photography. Her personal projects are diverse in subject matter, reflecting her curiosity and willingness to explore themes that resonate with her. Anna-Maria's current projects delve into two distinct themes: an exploration of how culture has historically pursued and romanticized various subjects, resonating within both historical and contemporary cultural contexts, alongside an introspective investigation into identity, with a focus on her own personal narrative.
